Regal Red
Regal Reds and Harvest Gold
Toot-Toot
I, along with my good friend Gary Armitage,
raise Rare Heritage turkeys.  These are very
special birds and some of them are quite
rare.  Our birds are raised for their feathers
for fly tying.

The Regal Reds, Harvest Golds and Black
Wing Bronze are from a strain of birds that
Dr. Tom Walker from Texas has been
working on for many years.  The birds are
absolutely beautiful.  I must confess that my
favorites are the Harvest Gold toms.  In the
sunlight, they throw so many colors it is
almost mind boggling.

This year we are expanding the project a little
to include some more varieties and this page
will continue to grow and evolve as the rest of
the website will with pix of the new birds.

These birds turn out to be almost like pets.
They will eat out of your hand, especially the
hens.

One of my hens, Toot-Toot (named by my
daughter Ashley) is a mutt in the bird world.
She comes from a Narragansett daddy and a
Royal Palm momma and is the most
beautiful color of light gray with white tips you
have ever seen.

This year we hope to have some more
Narragansetts, Royal Palms, Grays, Blacks,
and Pencil Palms.

This year we also hope to have enough birds
to slaughter a few for the table.  We have not
enjoyed any of the meat yet, but we intend
and hope to do that this year.

We use GQF incubators and hatchers and a
home-made brooder and have been having
pretty good success with our hatches this
year.

Hope you enjoy the photos and if you are
interested in buying birds or eggs (in
season) please call.

We are not a hatchery or meat market, but
can provide a few at the right time of the year.
At this time, the only thing we can ship is
eggs, usually after mid-April when I know the
fertility is good.  If you live in the area and can
drive in, perhaps we can talk about
purchasing birds.
