Welcome to Hand's Fly Tying.
This website is primarily
devoted to fly tying and fly
fishing. Please take your
time and browse around. If
you see something that
interests you, please contact
me.
Hopefully this site will continue to grow and be a
place you continue to visit. I have some great ideas
for what I would like to do with it, now it is just getting
the time and knowledge to get it done.
What are you going to find here?
Most of what you are going to find here is my work. I have tied flies for over
25 years and in the past couple years got away from the production tying
and into Salmon flies and older style flies that I love to tie. In addition, I
hope to have a section about the birds I raise, a section with stuff for sale, a
Friends section and down the line perhaps a monthly fly section.
If you like what you see, feel free to contact us and let us know. If you
have any questions about fly tying or birds drop me a line and I will be
happy to attempt to get a good answer for you.
So for now, feel free to browse through the pictures on the site and
perhaps I will see you at one of the special events I will be tying at in
the future. Until then, keep your thread tight.

Hand's Fly Tying
Green Highlander
Havasu
Eyes on the Kori
Transitional McNichol
The flies you see on this page are some of my favorites and my latest work.
Havasu was the first bead fly I tied and it turned out very nice. It now
resides in a friend's home in New York. Eyes on the Kori was a fly I tied for
the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, TX. Transitional McNichol is probably
the fly I am the most proud of. It is tied on a 9/0 + 1 1/4 inch blind eye
hook. The rear of the fly is an old Classic pattern, The McNichol and the
front is a modern artistic version of the fly using the same materials and
colors as the back of the fly. It is featured in a national RV manufacturer
brochure. The fly at the top right is my latest piece of work, a Green
Highlander tied with an all silk body.
